The Model X is the one with the doors that lift, and that is exactly what this 1:22 diecast does. Both rear falcon-wing doors swing up and out, the front doors and the bonnet open, and underneath is the flat floor and moulded cabin that makes the real car look like nothing else on the road.

What it does

  • Falcon-wing rear doors — they lift up the way the real car's do, which is the whole reason to own this one.
  • Front doors and bonnet open — the front boot and the cabin are both moulded in.
  • Pull back and go — a friction motor drives it across the floor.
  • Lights and sound — press down for headlights and an engine note.

Looking after it

The falcon doors run on a double hinge, which is the most delicate part of the model — lift them by the edge of the glass, not by the roof panel, and do not force them past where they stop. Wipe it with a dry cloth, and take the cells out if it is going on a shelf for a long while.
