The track-only version of the P1, with the number 51 on the nose and McLaren P1 GTR down each flank. The whole car is built around that huge fixed rear wing, and underneath it the body is all vents and ducts, which is what a car that never has to pass a road test ends up looking like.

What it does

Doors open upwards — hinged at the front, the way the real P1's dihedral doors swing.
Lights — press down and the headlights come on.
Pull back and go — a friction motor drives it across the floor.

Looking after it

The wing mirrors sit on thin stalks and the rear wing stands clear of the body — both will catch if the car is dropped or pushed along a carpet. Lift it by the roof, wipe it with a dry cloth, and take the cells out if it is going on a shelf for months.

It sits very low at the nose, so it runs best on a smooth floor.
